Kim Lindman
Kim Lindman is a Literary Agent and Contract & Royalties Manager at Stonesong, having joined the agency in 2018. Originally from the West Coast, Kim studied English Literature with a subfocus in Journalism at Seattle Pacific University, where she worked as a copyeditor. After moving to the NYC area, she worked as a researcher for an NGO that served the United Nations, then as a freelance copywriter and editor, in tandem with culinary work. This combination of experience, along with her Project Management (NYU) and Publishing (CUNY) Certificates, provides a unique advantage in the culinary and non-fiction spaces.
Kim primarily specializes in non-fiction. In this area, she represents and is actively seeking: expertise- or platform-driven cookbooks, investigative journalism, self-help, health, wellness, social science, pop science, and culture. While she is primarily drawn to books with some level of practical elements and actionable takeaways, she is also looking for narrative non-fiction that adds nuanced perspective to broad topics or that makes niche subjects accessible and engaging for a general audience.
On a highly selective basis, Kim also considers upmarket and literary fiction for adult readers. Her favorite novels usually belong to combination of the following categories: contemporary and historical realism, literary mystery, magical realism, and five-minutes-in-the-future sci-fi. Kim is currently not considering romance, poetry, YA, or books for kids.
